Street Foods around Petchaburi Soi 5, Pratunam

Along the way to hunt the tom yum noodles from P'Aor restaurant, there are a lot of street foods along Petchaburi Soi 5 and Soi 7. I was there around 6 pm, a lot of white-collar workers are off from their work and buy the food for their dinner. Varies street foods can be found such as BBQ chicken, pork stick, seafood, fruits stall, drinks, etc. Here I found a Thai sausage, indeed i do love it.

This is the half-cooked sausage, once you ordered they will fry it again until completely cooked. The sausages will served together with fresh cabbage and chili padi. If you cannot resist the spiciness of chili padi, you can just ignore it. I love chili padi, therefore I eat sausage together with cabbage and followed by a small bite of chili padi. The sausage taste a bit sour and consists of glutinous rice, meat. When eat together with cabbage and chili padi, the juicy sausage burst in your mouth and the cabbage give you the crunchiness and followed by the spiciness of chili padi erupted in your mouth. WOW!!!

Besides, we found that there is another Tom Yum noodles stall at the end of Petchaburi Soi 5 just besides the main road. The stall was managed managed by 3 young people: 2 handsome boys and one pretty girl, they can speak a little English.

Quite crowded because of few tables available only and mostly local people having meal over there. There also prepared the stools for us while waiting others to finish their meal. For the tom yum noodles, you can choose any ingredient you like such as fish, prawn, chicken and etc. Apart from that, you can also choose different kind of noodles like glass noodles, vermicelli and others.

After ordering, they will cook and serve. On every time they serve something like fried fish skin?! I'm not very sure about it (if you know what is this, please left a comment below and tell me what is it. Thank you~!). But i saw others just dip this into the tom yum soup and serve together with the noodles.

Here come the tom yum noodles~~!!I ordered the Fish Tom Yum noodles. For those who allergic to prawn or shrimp and you can't try the tom yum noodles from P'Aor, you can try this. Personally, I like this version more. The lemongrass, coriander and the spices gives a simple and yet rich flavor. Even after a big bowl from P'Aor and I felt so FULL, but I can taste the deliciousness of this Tom Yum. Furthermore It cost only 45 bahts per bowl.

Just a recommendation for those who passed by Petchaburi Soi 5, you can sit down and have a try. It open during night time.

The location of the stalk is shown as below (STAR*).

Tom Yum Noodles along Petchaburi Soi 5

I like to eat. So during my first trip to Bangkok, I had do a lot of researches on Thai FOOD~ especially Tom Yum. I found that there is a restaurant named as "P'Aor" is well known with its TOM YUM noodles and even been given a title of  "BEST TOM YUM in BANGKOK". How can I miss it?!! MUST GO..

On day-1, after check-in hotel and without any doubts, grabbed my purse and headed to " P'Aor ". The restaurant was in walking distance (1.3 km) to the hotel we stayed which is "Metz Hotel Pratunam".  By using Google Map, we found the restaurant. The restaurant is located between Petchaburi Soi 5 and 7, so we can either excess through Soi 5 or 7. You can found the signboard of the restaurant from far as shown in the picture below.

The actual look of the restaurant is shown as below. It isn't a big restaurant and it will a bit crowded during dinner time. However, most of the customers are local people.

The Menu is full of Thai Language, but no worry if you can't read and understand, you can order the food by pointing the pictures in the menu as i do. The second thing you can do to order is by pointing the food of next table...haha (awkwardly). Some of the staff can speak english, so don't worry about the communication problem.

For Drinks, we order Thai Lime tea and jasmine Tea to quench your thirst. I definitely love the Jasmine tea as in picture below. The fragrance of  jasmine and the sweetness is just so nice to me. Sorry I forget to take the picture of the thai lime tea. The Thai lime tea is nice too but is too strong for me after drinking I feel like Heart-bumping super fast.

Dah-dah~~!!! The Tom Yum  noodle is here on our table!!! For those who like BIG PRAWN you CANNOT MISS IT when you come to bangkok!! It is creamy, not too spicy. The prawns are fresh and juicy. For those who love "虾膏" (i don't know what to call in English, if you know please teach me by leave in comment below), you can enjoy suck the prawn head together with the soup...wow..(mouth watering).. although i know it's in high cholesterol but once in the blue moon how can i let it go~~

Another dishes we tried it the beef noodle, there are slices of braised beef, coriander, bean sprouts and the green egg noodles. The noodles is chewy and nice but I still prefer tom yum noodle compared to this.

The food here is cheap. Both of us have 2 drinks and 2 noodles. Total expenses is 157 bahts only.

Address: 68/51, Soi Phetchaburi 5, Thung Phaya Thai, Khet Ratchathewi, Bangkok ( you can easily find it in google map)
